My work explores the intersection of analogue and digital technologies in the commercial arts through an autoethnographic lens. Using a speculative approach, my research emphasises hands-on experimentation with photographic and graphic design methods, focusing on a "what if" rather than a "what was" perspective.

By investigating familial connections to the commercial arts industries, I engage in an intergenerational dialogue that draws on both direct experience and inherited narratives, recognising the pluralistic nature of recollection. Much of the knowledge I explore is either overlooked, undocumented, obsolete, or emerging. Revisiting these forgotten or hidden processes sheds light on the rapid shifts in accessibility, speed, and volume within visual communication over the last 100 years. This approach allows me to examine the tension between innovation and obsolescence—both in technology and personal experience—while uncovering the often-hidden power structures within the workplace.
