By combining analogue and digital design processes, I have created a series of simulated artefacts informed by research into the often-overlooked contributions of women in commercial art, especially within the fields of domestic decor and photographic finishing.
Recognising the impossibility of fully recovering lost forms—both physical and experiential—this work employs defamiliarization and the uncanny to explore the temporal and pluralistic nature of memory.
These artefacts bear marks specific to the technologies used—or imitated—in their creation. Through their titles, their materials form a map of their mixed provenance.
